It is set in beautiful grounds, which play host to a programme of special events throughout the summer months; there is also a motorcycle museum and tearooms.

The City Gallery in Leicester is one of the most important collections of contemporary art in the East Midland, and showcases a diverse range of works reflecting the cosmopolitan nature of the region. Donington Park Racing Circuit in Leicestershire is home to the superb Grand Prix Collection – the world’s largest collection of Formula One racing cars. There are more than 130 vehicles in five exhibition halls, from the very earliest days of motor racing to the modern day; notable exhibits include the wonderful 1936 Alfa Romeo Bimotore and Jim Clark's World Championship winning Lotus 25 amongst others.

Belgrave Hall, in the northern suburbs of Leicester, was built between 1709 and 1713; today it is set out as an interactive museum, allowing visitors to glimpse how life was for the well-off middle classes and their servants during the Georgian and Victorian eras. Belgrave Hall is also reputedly one of the UK’s most haunted buildings, with a string of unexplained paranormal events occurring over the years.
