Manchester offers unrivalled shopping facilities in the North West, and is one of the best cities for retail therapy in the UK. In a recent study, it was found that Manchester was the country’s second most popular location for retailers outside of London; this is borne out by the plethora of top names and major department stores that have established themselves in the city, in addition to the many specialist outlets and small shops. Manchester has a significant number of pedestrianised areas, making it a pleasant place for shoppers. It also boasts a huge number of shopping centres, the main two being the Arndale Centre and the Trafford Centre.
