|
This August Bank Holiday weekend sees the 25 th Cawood Craft Festival held in Cawood North Yorkshire. For 24 years the festival has promoted, preserved and protected the traditional arts and crafts of rural Britain. The fair was originally established to help raise money for the upkeep of the local All Saints Church and is now celebrated as the biggest summer attraction in the Selby area. Stallholders showcase traditional skills such as woodturning, pottery, flower-arranging, bee keeping, driftwood sculpture, millinery, and sewing. With over 100 stalls selling handmade items visitors are sure to come away with something special – perhaps individual gifts, locally produced foodstuffs or unique jewellery.
As well as a host of stalls the festival offers attractions to please all the family. There’s live music, a medieval village, a circus skills workshop, classic cars, steam engines, vintage tractors, a sculpture park, competitions and a whole lot more. And to mark the 25 th anniversary of Cawood Craft Festival a Pimms and Champagne Bar will be serving bubbly treats in the Vicarage Gardens.
