There are plenty of opportunities in Nottinghamshire for the avid shopper, with a wide range of shops from familiar High Street shops and department stores to smaller, more specialist retailers dotted around the county. The most impressive facilities can be found in Nottinghamshire’s largest city, Nottingham; here you will find all of the big names, as well as some of the most exclusive fashion labels outside of London and, in the Victoria and the Broadmarsh Shopping Centres, two modern and well-equipped shopping centres with plenty of cafes and restaurants to revive flagging shoppers. Some of Nottinghamshire’s other towns such as Mansfield, Retford and Newark-on-Trent also offer good shopping facilities, as well as frequent markets. Newark in particular is well known for its markets, with a farmers’ market held on the fourth Thursday of every month; the town’s six annual antiques fairs are also well attended, with over 4000 stalls selling an eclectic range of wares from mundane items to priceless collectables.
