The Arc de Triomphe is a famous Parisian landmark, and stands on the Place Charles de Gaulle. It was originally commissioned by Napoleon after the French victory at Austerlitz in 1806, although the monument was not completed until 1836. The tomb of the Unknown Soldier can be found beneath the arch is, as well as the eternal flame - commemorating the dead of the First and Second World Wars.
