Crich Tramway Village, home of the National Tramway Museum, offers a family day out in the relaxing atmosphere of a bygone era. Explore the recreated period street with its genuine buildings and features, fascinating exhibitions and most importantly, its trams. Unlimited tram rides are free with your entry fee, giving you the opportunity to fully appreciate Crich Tramway Village and the surrounding countryside.
Journey on one of the many beautifully restored vintage trams, as they rumble through the cobbled street past a traditional police telephone known as the 'TARDIS', the Red Lion pub & restaurant, exhibition hall, workshops, children's play and picnic area, before passing beneath the magnificent Bowes-Lyon Bridge. Next it's past the bandstand, through the woods, and then on to Glory Mine taking in spectacular views of the Derwent Valley.
Sanctuary from Showers
Crich Tramway Village boasts a vast array of indoor attractions. A huge Exhibition Hall houses the ‘Tracks in Time’ experience and other treasures. There are depots to explore, displays to discover and the exquisitely restored Vintage Tram fleet to fascinate you.

Tempting Fayre
The Tea Rooms, Refreshment Pavilion, Ice Cream Parlour and Picnic areas ensure that you can feast at will, dining with us or enjoying the views and action from the Picnic Areas. Due to open in 2002 is the Red Lion pub and carvery.

Inspired Ideas for Gifts
The Emporium and Forge Shops hold a treasure-trove of gifts, souvenirs, books and models. Birthdays and other Special Days can be celebrated with our special VIP Days. Or if you’re searching for that special gift why not try the Ultimate Driving Experience – ‘a turn on the handles’ of a Vintage Tram. Courses are held throughout the year.

Everyone’s Welcome
For groups of 10 or more, the ‘Great Groups’ special rates and catering arrangements offer excellent value. People with mobility difficulties can ride our ‘Access Tram’ which has been converted to lift and carry wheelchairs. Schools are catered for with our Key Stage Education Packs, and children of all ages can let off steam in the indoor and outdoor playgrounds. And if you have a dog, bring it with you – dogs on a lead are welcome too.

Special Events
From April to December the Village plays host to many special events with something to interest everyone. A highlight for 2002 will be a visit from Thomas the Tank Engine on two weekends, 20/21 and 27/28 July. Other events include a Teddy Bears Outing, Forties weekend and Tramathon where all our working trams will be running.

New for 2002
This year sees the opening of two new visitor facilities. The Red Lion pub, and the new Workshop Galleries. The Red Lion has been moved stone by stone from Stoke on Trent and re-erected in its new home at the heart of Crich Tramway Village; upstairs will house a carvery restaurant. Thanks to funding from the National Lottery, new Workshop Galleries will enable visitors to see at first hand the traditional skills of restoring and maintaining the vintage trams.
