Fishguard


 
Fishguard – known as Abergwaun due to its location at the mouth of the River Gwaun – is an attractive little fishing port on the North Pembrokeshire Coast. It is linked to Rosslare in Ireland by a ferry, and to Cheltenham, Oxford and London by the A40 road, which terminates here.

 

St David’s


 
St David’s is a tiny city – the smallest in the UK in fact – on the St David’s Peninsula, on the West Pembrokeshire coast. A charming little place, St David’s has many medieval buildings including the beautiful St David’s Cathedral.

 

Milford Haven

 
Milford Haven – known as Aberdaugleddau – is a small town at the mouth of the two Cleddau Rivers, in Pembrokeshire. The former whaling capital of West Wales evolved into a busy port, although today the town’s main employer is the nearby oil refinery.

 

Haverfordwest

 
Haverfordwest – known to the Welsh as Hwlffordd – is a small market town in Pembrokeshire, and is linked to Fishguard and Carmarthen by the A40 road. It has a ruined castle and attractive priory, and still functions as a bustling market town.

 

Pembroke Dock

 
Pembroke Dock – Doc Penfro – is situated on the River Cleddau in Pembrokeshire, and is just to the north west of Pembroke itself. A naval dockyard was built in the town in the early 19th Century, and the Pembroke Dock – Rosslare ferry is still busy to this day.

 

Pembroke

 
Pembroke – Penfro in Welsh – is the traditional county town of Pembrokeshire, and is a charming little town to the south of the Cleddau Estuary. Pembroke was the birthplace of King Henry VII of England; he was born in Pembroke Castle.

 

Tenby


 
Tenby – Dinbych-y-Pysgod or ‘Village of Fish’ in Welsh – is a popular seaside town on the Pembrokeshire Coast. The town features impressive medieval walls and many medieval buildings, as well as over 2 miles of golden beaches.

 

Saundersfoot

 
Saundersfoot is an attractive little fishing port and popular seaside town on the Pembrokeshire Coast. It has beautiful golden beaches, and looks out over Carmarthen Bay.

 

Narberth

 
Narberth – Arberth as it is known to the Welsh – is an attractive little town in Pembrokeshire, and was established as a stronghold by the Normans following their invasion of Wales. Today it is a popular tourist destination, with an art gallery, a ruined castle and a museum.
