Newcastle’s Royal Station Hotel is a handsome Victorian railway hotel adjacent to Newcastle Central Station, in the heart of the vibrant city centre. Its grandeur is a little faded and the hotel looks like it could do with some TLC, but there are many original features of the Royal Station Hotel such as the ornate staircases, beautiful chandeliers and grand vaulted ceilings. The hotel makes a convenient and reasonably priced base from which to explore Newcastle’s revitalised city centre and Quayside.

The Royal Station Hotel was opened by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert in 1858 - its 144 spacious en-suite rooms combine traditional and modern styles, and are reasonably comfortable, if not especially luxurious. There are also 14 conferencing suites, some of which have been recently refurbished, capable of accommodating up to 200 delegates. Wireless Internet is available in all public areas, and the hotel offers a Leisure Club with pool, Jacuzzi, steam room and gymnasium, as well as the popular Destination Bar and La Grille Restaurant.
