A reputation like that of The Royal Yacht is usually built over decades of care, attention to detail and impeccable standards – what a challenge then to rejuvenate the hotel’s standing in just a year. But successfully combining an eventful history with a huge project to expand and rebrand The Royal Yacht is now once again highly regarded as one of Jersey’s premier hotels. Having undergone a £35 million expansion and refurbishment project The Royal Yacht reopened to much excitement in July 2007. The result of a year of renovations is understated elegance, happily in keeping with the traditions of the Channel Islands. In the heart of the historic town of St Helier The Royal Yacht stands proudly on the waterfront overlooking the harbour. The Royal Yacht is ideally located for exploring Jersey’s cosmopolitan capital with the shops and bars of St Helier within waking distance and easy access to the island’s key historical sights. As the most southerly of the Channel Islands Jersey also benefits from many hours of sunshine a year, and this, combined with sandy beaches and romantic towns, attracts many tourists and visitors each year. As well as being perfectly placed for guests to immerse themselves in the culture and history of this romantic island, The Royal Yacht welcomes guests who arrive in Jersey with business concerns. The hotel’s convenient location means that it is easily reached by road, and Jersey is just 60 minutes by plane from most UK airports.
Combining a strong sense of tradition with state of the art facilities The Royal Yacht is a popular choice with all visitors to St Helier whether they come drawn to the town’s rich heritage, the local hospitality or picturesque beaches. Some guests may prefer to immerse themselves in luxury in one of the hotel’s private suites, others to make use of the Royal Yacht’s innovative new Spa for tailor made beauty treatments. The Royal Yacht is justifiably proud of its new facilities. Guestrooms and suites have been fully redecorated in a contemporary style with a quirky retro twist, conference amenities have been brought up to date with state of the art technical equipment, and Spa Sirène is the Royal Yacht’s new pride and joy. Hotel amenities now also include some of the island’s finest dining establishments. Sirocco is the gastronome’s choice for local seasonal produce, The Grill is perfect for traditional comfort food and Café Zephyr’s contemporary international menus offer a taste of the exotic. The hotel’s new bars, The Cabin, The Drift and P.O.S.H. Bar offer something for everyone from homely comfort to classic elegance or modern glamour.
