England’s smallest county, Rutland, is perhaps not immediately associated with High Street shopping and major retail outlets, and while the county certainly is modest in its provision of shopping facilities, its main towns of Oakham and Uppingham make a charming and bustling setting in which to peruse the mainly small and specialist shops.
Oakham offers an interesting range of specialist boutiques, while Uppingham is well known for its antique shops. More extensive shopping facilities can of course be found in nearby Peterborough, Leicester and Lincoln.
