Salisbury Cathedral is a national treasure, and is a magnificent example of medieval craftsmanship. Salisbury Cathedral has changed somewhat over the centuries, the most striking changes being made by James Wyatt in 1790, but the distinctive and iconic Cathedral was captured on canvas forever by English artist John Constable in the 1820s.

The Normans built a castle on the site, and a palace, tower and cathedral followed, before the bishopric was moved to the site of today’s Salisbury Cathedral, a little under two miles away.
