Stanley House in Mellor is a 17 th Century Manor House set in 54 acres of beautiful parkland, in the heart of the striking Lancashire countryside. Regarded by many as one of the finest country house hotels in England, it has undergone a recent programme of extensive restoration that has successfully recaptured its past glory and splendour. The setting for Stanley House is as enthralling as the hotel itself. The rugged Ribble Valley countryside with its combination of rolling hills, stark escarpments and wonderfully undulating terrain are the perfect setting for those looking for seclusion or to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. But that’s not to say Stanley House is isolated, far from it in fact. The village of Mellor is close by, and the M65 and M6 motorways can be reached in a little over 10 minutes. From the North, South and West (M6).

Turn off the M6 at Junction 31 and head for Blackburn on the A59. At the first set of traffic lights, go straight through and pick up the A677. After approximately 3 miles you will pass the Windmill pub on your left hand side. Take the next turn to the right, and the driveway to Stanley House will be the first turning on the left.

   
From the East (M60 and M62). Turn off the M60/M62 at Junction 15, onto the M61, and head North. At the end of the M61 follow the signs to the M6 and head North. Turn off the M6 at Junction 31 and head for Blackburn on the A59. At the first set of traffic lights, go straight through and pick up the A677. After approximately 3 miles you will pass the Windmill pub on your left hand side. Take the next turn to the right, and the driveway to Stanley House will be the first turning on the left.
