The Staybridge Suites on Liverpool’s King’s Waterfront, opening in spring 2008, will be an innovation in British travel accommodation. Part of the 2008 European Capital of Culture’s development of the Waterfront, which includes The Liverpool Arena and Conference Centre and the Liverpool Echo Arena, the Staybridge Suites will offer a ‘home away from home’ for its guests. An established and successful group in the USA, Liverpool will be Staybridge’s first UK hotel, with two further sites planned (in Brentford and London’s South Bank), and four more locations awaiting planning approval.

The Staybridge Suites differ from most hotels in that it is aimed at longer-staying guests, such as business clients expecting to spend a week or more in a given city. The attractive red brick building on Liverpool’s Waterfront will contain 132 suites. Spacious and contemporarily decorated, each suite, whether studio or 1-bedroom, will come with a fully equipped kitchen, living room with entertainment centre and free WIFI broadband. In addition, communal areas consisting of a ‘Hub Kitchen’, living room and outdoor terrace will be available. There will also be a 24 hour mini-market, exercise room and laundry facilities to cater for guests’ every need.  Its location in the centre of the Liverpool’s newest development also ensures that visitors will be ideally located for the increased business and tourist attractions in the Waterfront development, and close to transport links into the city and across the country.

Guests of the Staybridge Suites will be at the centre of the fastest growing economy outside London. The docklands of Liverpool are fast returning to their former status as lynchpin of the city, and the Waterfront, itself a UNESCO World Heritage site, has plenty to offer. The nearby Albert Docks hold the Tate Liverpool, The Beatles Story exhibition, the Maritime Museum and a selection of upmarket bars and restaurants. Within Liverpool City centre, the Liverpool One shopping centre, set to open in May 2008, will bring designer labels, trendy eateries, 14-screen cinema and Chavasse Park, a ‘green oasis in the city’.
