With its close proximity and ease of access to Central London, many people head into the capital for their shopping rather than stay in Surrey; but there is a very good selection of shopping venues in the towns and villages of Surrey, with all of the big High Street brands and major retail outlets of the big city. Some of the smaller towns and villages may be rather limited in their quota of shops, but many places such as Farnham, Leatherhead and Dorking have a good range of smaller shops and speciality outlets. Many of the towns and villages in Surrey have for centuries relied on markets for their income, and many still hold frequent farmers’ markets. If large, modern shopping centres and department stores are what you are looking for, or perhaps out of town retail parks, then Guildford, Woking and Kingston-Upon-Thames have much to offer. Guildford in particular is frequently voted amongst the South’s top shopping towns, while venturing further afield into Croydon yields a good choice of retail outlets and shopping centres.
