Worcester is a fantastic place for shopping with a pedestrian only high street and modern shopping plazas standing alongside independent boutiques and antique centres. The High Street is home to a mixture of internationally recognised chains and smaller independent shops selling everything from clothing to homeware. CrownGate (Friary Walk) is Worcester’s largest shopping centre and home to a vast range of fashion and lifestyle shops, leisure activities and cafes. Ancient Friar Street and the Hopmarket are lined with unusual shops selling distinctive gifts, furniture, jewellery and fashion. If visitors grow weary of shopping the surrounding lanes are home to numerous cafes, bars and restaurants.
Antique shops abound in historic Worcester. The city’s largest antiques centre is Worcester Antiques Centre in Reindeer Court, a shopping arcade housed in a converted 17th century coaching inn. Smaller shops specialising in antiques can be found throughout the city’s medieval streets. And of course Worcester is home to the famous Royal Worcester porcelain factory that has manufactured quality bone china and porcelain since 1751. The Royal Worcester Visitor Centre (Severn Street), on the banks of the River Severn, offers the chance to purchase Royal Worcester ware from the showroom at excellent prices.
