Worthing is a delight for visitors, situated between the beautiful South Downs, and five miles of award winning coastline. The town welcomes visitors with its superb theatres, friendly restaurants and fabulous shopping by the sea. As a major centre in West Sussex it also offers a full range of accommodation with many fine hotels and home-from-home guesthouses. On Worthing's doorstep is the outstanding countryside of East and West Sussex with dozens of historic houses, charming gardens and historical towns and villages. With a population of around 100,000, Worthing is the largest town in West Sussex and a bustling modern commercial centre.
The town lies on the coastal plain bounded to the north by the outstanding natural beauty of the South Downs and to the south by the English Channel. It is the town’s geographical situation, offering as it does the dual attractions of beautiful countryside and the sea, which over the years has been the primary reason for the town's popularity and growth. From the five miles of seashore other sports can be enjoyed, such as swimming, windsurfing, yachting and fishing.
